Anthropic's IPO reportedly slips from October to November

Anthropic's listing, expected in October 2026, has reportedly moved to November. Its last private valuation is 965 billion dollars; talk of about 2 trillion at IPO is unconfirmed.

Anthropic's initial public offering, which had been expected in October 2026, has reportedly moved to November, according to reports published in early October. The company has not announced a date, a price range or a share count.

Anthropic filed a confidential draft registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 1 June 2026, according to Yahoo Finance. A confidential filing lets a company prepare its listing before the prospectus becomes public; the public version must be released before the roadshow with investors.

The last valuation the company itself has confirmed is 965 billion dollars, set by its Series H round announced on 28 May 2026. Reports that investors and bankers discuss a valuation near 2 trillion dollars at listing have not been confirmed by the company. For comparison, SpaceX listed in June 2026 at a valuation of about 1.77 trillion dollars.

For holders of Anthropic shares bought in the private market, the date matters less than the terms that follow it: after a listing, existing shareholders are normally bound by a lock-up that delays any sale by several months.

Why it matters: the largest listings of recent years have moved a growing share of value creation to the years before the IPO. How an IPO is priced against the last private round is one of the clearest tests of whether private valuations were realistic.
